2. WHY WORSHIP LEADING?
I. Called to Worship Lead
Many of us have been given a privilege to serve God as a worship leader either in our small group or at church level. Regardless of the congregation size, a worship leader has a special responsibility to serve God and His people. This session will unfold some significance of worship leading and help answer the question, “Why Do I want to Worship Lead?”
Click the audio below to listen to Torch Leung’s sharing on this topic and then write down in your own words -

II. The Importance of a Worship Leader
Roles and functions of a worship leader in the church is important and crucial, especially for any corporate gathering. We need God’s presence to be so tangible and present there. The following article helps us understand the importance of a worship leader and the potential he or she carries when serving the church.

After reading the article, let’s take a few minute to ponder over your personal experience in worship leading and ask yourself the following questions.
- “Do I point people to Christ when worship leading?”
- “When worship leading, am I usually God-conscious or self-conscious?”
- “What can I do to be a ‘doorkeeper’?”

ambrose:
1) give God the glory due to Him and invite people to do the same.
2) the sharings in the video really helps me see the true heart of these well known worship leaders are still to serve God and His ppl. Have the focus to serve our Church.
[Jimmie Thongkul]
1. I have learned that before I lead others into God’s presence through worship, I first need to be God’s worshiper so that I won’t just lead them to God only when I am on a stage but also through my daily life.
2. Through this lesson, I come to realise once again how much God loves and wants draw near to His people. As a worship leader, I realise a privilege to assist God in bringing people to Him. And becaise this privilege, it motivates me to strive to be God’s better worship leader.
{Natasha R.}
1. To find that balance between leading the congregation to a destination of intimacy with God, yet not overtake.
2. Just knowing that other members of Hope Church Brisbane are seeking excellent worship along with me. Also getting insights into how worship leaders around the world get inspired.

Whoo I have been moved by today’s session. I have learnt that my reason to lead worship should be:
1) My act of obedience to the Holy Spirit and not to be followed by the congregation or the band (Matt Redmon)
2) Yet at the same time find that balance to move with the audience to meet God
3) As a leader I should have already been in that place of sanctuary (worship leading in lifegroup, quiet time, devotion) as Kim Walker shared
4) To use my life as a testimony in that place of honouring GOD with the responsibility befor me (Poster Steve)
{Jessy}
1. To be a vessel of God through worship. (indeed we are God’s doorkeepers)
2. To always be desperate for Gods anointing in worship leading, it is clear to me without him my worship unto him is meaningless. To have the right heart before him, am humbled that God has entrusted me.
[Chris]
1. Humility and honour go hand in had in worship leadership. It’s from that place we point people to the cross.
2. I want to continue to grow in a heart of a servant – to draw people to God, not myself; to do all I can (on and off the stage) to serve His church
[Vanessa]
1.It’s all about the heart of passion to pursue Jesus and growing our love for Him, through that, we are able to bring others to a place of intimacy in worship where we ourselves have experienced it.
2.To be faithful with what God has given me and trust Him to prepare the way ahead and lead every step of the way.
[Jason Li]
1. It’s about Him, it’s all about Him, it is He who empowers, it is He who promotes, we just have to be with Him in worship. That’s all that matters.
2. To worship Him with what He has placed in my hands and to enjoy this journey with Him every step of the way.

1. Worship leaders are the ushering team in a corporate worship service and Alzheimer’s disease patient’s companion !!!
2. My own relationship with God will impact my leading as I love Him more, the people I’m leading will follow to love God. Be real, worship leading is not a performance, but a devotion and dedication to God. Let God raise me up !!!! GREAT !!
Jason Lee
1.) Your heart to worship shines not the music… it’ll encourage people to worship. Lead people to go where you have been into the secret place, let the focus be God and not till it goes to you.
2.) To be ready in every season in and out, and a passion for Him so much that it has become a lifestyle that you just wanna be in His presence wherever I go.
